Changing Potential (possibly with IQ)??? Topic

When I logged in after todays game to check up on the team, I was shocked to find that one of my sophomore guards had experienced a change in his potential in Defense.  I am shocked because I recruited him knowing he had no updside in defense, and through his first 2 seasons I have not had any minutes if defense practice...yet today his defense rating is showing up as black instead of red...meaning he has room to grow?  His rating has been at 43 (RED) all year, but after today's game it is still 43 except now BLACK.  Is it possible that he went up 1/3 grade in defense and now has higher potential unlocked?  I have never heard of this before and am hoping for some input as to what is going on.  Obviously, if I had known he had potential to increase in defense I would have had a very different distribution of practice minutes.

Potential works on decimals.  So if 0-7 is low, medium starts at 7.01.  His cap may be at (just throwing out numbers here as I have no idea who you're talking about) 75.37...it's not exactly 75 or exactly 76

Let's say he was red but he could have conceivably had ~6.99 points left to grow, and he would have still been red.  Whatever he started at he slowly decreased until he crossed the threshold to having 7.01 points of growth left.  He could have done that without dropping from 75 to 74.

Hopefully that makes sense.

makes total sense....I just thought the rating would need to make an integer drop to change color.  Good to know he has a potential 7 points left!  Thanks Bow
