I traded for him and planned to use him as a reliever hoping he could give me a decent number of innings. (and possibly as a starter in the playoffs vs teams with a lot of good lefties)  I had him set to 25 pitches and he recovered slowly from that. I next stuck him in the rotation and set him at 75 pitches, he recovered just in time for his next 2 starts and now will not be ready for his upcoming start.  So I'm thinking about sticking him back in the bullpen and setting him to 15 pitches and hoping he can recover quickly from that.

Tandem B whenever he's at 100%.  Pitch count of 60/65.

Set your paired Tandem A starter to a lower pitch count (40/40) if you wish.

I say tandem with just 40 pitches, his DUR of 18 is really low with that low of a STA to go with it.

obv meant vs teams with a lot of good righties not good lefties.  I have 3 lefty starters as is

I have never used tandem nor have I ever heard of it.  Going to look through faqs and find it, but if anyone can offer a quick explanation thatd be great.  Thanks guys

Tandem A starts the game.  Tandem B is the first reliever.

Why would you want to limit him once he's in a game?

Can you just spot start someone else, or move another starter ahead of him to buy him that extra day of rest?

I often slide my High DUR/STA guys ahead of the lower ones to help with fatigue of the low DUR/STA guys. So at season's end my horses may end up with 34 starts and the lower guys may only get 29 or 30

sure. I have 2 good long men(one who was starting before the trade), both with ERAs under 4.  I'm just trying to figure out how to maximize this guy's inning.  Especially as I'm considering if I should resign him in the offseason for 6 mil.  His ratings are great, but if I can't figure out how to use him right, it could be a waste.

I never tandem (not to say it doesn't work though) and would just use him as a LRA and get him a lot of innings, or start him and slide him back for an extra day of rest when need be.

well my ace(last years Cy Young) has shoulder inflammation and is out for the remainder of the regular season(45 days) so I guess this guy will be in the rotation from here on out.

The advantage of tandeming him is that you can guarantee when he will pitch (the same if you start him).  If you just use him as LRA, you're at SIMMY's mercy as to whether or not he pitches in a particular game.

If his owner wants to maximize his IP's, then either start him or tandem him when he's 100%.  Once you thow him in the 'pen, you lose some control of his usage.
