Rookie usage, ratings and home court Topic

I have a few questions; if someone could lend an answer or two that would be appreciated. :)

1. How are rookies handled in regards to usage? If I have five guys on the floor at 14.5 usage points and a rookie comes in...what happens? Does he count for zero?

2. How do the rookie ratings of offense, defense, rebounding and durability relate to the normal player? For instance, what does a 10 rebounding mean? What is a 3 offense? I understand that its on a scale of 10...but how does that compare to a normal player?

3. Does it matter what home court you pick? Are there differences?

Thanks!

1. Not sure.  My post-season analysis has rookies' usages to be anywhere from tier 6 to tier 2.  I'm not sure how they count towards possession penalties.

2. Not sure.  WIS is somewhat secretive about it.  They say 10 means it the best it can be... for a rookie (which does not correlate to a regular player).

3. No.

Thanks for the response!

The mystery remains, I guess. :)

Amen to #4.  Rookies are League killers.  They make a joke of the salary cap.  Might as well spin a wheel or draw cards to determine a League if it's going to use rookies.  Biggest joke WIS has put in their SIM, and their are sveral other good contenders.

I agree I don't like rookies, for several reasons.

First is what all3 said, which is it's a random draw who you get or how good they are. There is no skill involved, and you don't get any input at all.

Second, it allows for changes in strategy based on usage of the rookies. For example, a strategy used by many (and myself at times) is to only draft players for so many minutes and expect rookies to play the rest. That ends if rookies end, and you have to get enough minutes or forced to deal with fatigue.
