Multiple Max Contracts Topic

Has anyone seen an owner hand out multiple max contracts in a single season before?

It'd have to be something pretty close to the perfect storm, I think, given the expense of hiring top coaches and setting aside $60M of payroll - and that's even assuming two guys worthy of max contracts become FA at the same time.

I see Torey Espada in S20, but who is the second guy? Did you have two who signed in the same season, tying up $60M of payroll?

Congrats on the 10th title, by the way!

it was 2-3 seasons ago, Roberts and Alarcon. not totally max contract but just about. Thanks!

Anyone else seen two full max contracts ($60M of payroll) signed by the same team in the same season?

I've never signed a max deal and I doubt I ever will..

So, in essence, they were not 2 max contracts?

Well, the reason I asked has come to be -

Vincenzo Smalley and Rafael Santiago. Let's hope it works.

If you were one of the Best GM Ever, you'd know what he meant.

I would never sign two max contracts let alone one max unless I had a great team to support them. It would be pointless to sign that type of contract unless you knew you had a great chance at a championship.

I'd argue that your opinion is short-sighted.

What types of contracts you can deal out to move into another rent district are almost always budget-based.

IOW, an 85 win team is not great and I don't think I have a great chance at a championship.    But I've got a better chance with Atchley.

Yeah in season 24 you made the playoffs, to me that is not an unlikely situation adding a guy like Atchley putting you over that hump.. It also depends on the world you are in and how competitive your team is in that particular world. In Fingers, I currently have a great base of ML talent with 50 mil player payroll to spend in FA. IF there was a candidate worthy of a max contract I would probably do it.

Hopefully, my team falls into this group.
