Hey Guys,

I haven't played Hoops Dynasty in over 3 years. I signed up and the interface seems pretty much exactly the same. I think I'll have a lot to re-learn about the game simulation engine and coaching. Right now I am getting for recruiting in Rupp. I have my targets, but what I'm not sure about is players dropping in from D1. Does this still happen a lot? Should I wait to do my recruiting until more players open up to me?

I have five spots open. Should I fill 2-3 and leave the other two for droppers? When do players usually drop? What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Aperi

Drops happen D2 to d3, usually not d1 to d3.  The biggest change is potential.  I think...I can't recall when that started.

hes got a d2 team, drop downs do happen from d1 to d2 like they used to. they don't drop right away, i think its like 8am the next day or something when they start. still need to send a phone call to check who might drop.

i'd probably try to cheaply grab a couple d2 players, and then see if you can upgrade them.

What is your prestige?  I think that makes a lot of difference in what players you are going to get/see.

Paland: Prestige is B+. I know in D3 that would net me some dropdowns, not sure about D2...

You can definitely pull down players with a B+, that's a pretty good prestige.

Also value ATH + DEF the most.  You should read Aejones' thread, I'll bump it.

you can get drop downs/pull downs with any prestige in d2/d3. you dont see the same starting pool as other teams with less prestige. for example, a b prestige school might see 250 point guards in d2, and a b+ prestige school might see 260 pgs. well, those 10 the b+ school sees, those are the first 10 pgs who will drop to a b prestige school (forget about the 70 miles exception for a second). so, it really doesn't matter what your prestige is, there are going to be players who will drop down, and of course, any player who should eventually drop down (unless they get signed first or whatever), can also be pulled down.

Yes, yes, exactly this.  Pulldowns are relative to your prestige.  Everybody can pull down recruits.
