Some tough decisions...'08 Halladay edges out '92 Clemens for the final rotation spot and '68 Yaz becomes a salary casualty. He's replaced by '56 Williams, who is a better hitter, but worse defender and has 100+ fewer plate appearances.

I have two very good relievers at the back of my 'pen in '10 Benoit and '09 Guerrier, and a rotation consisting of '72 Hunter, '05 Santana, '08 Halladay and '07 Lackey. In between - death. $13.5M wasted on Garcia, Langford and Brewer, though one will serve as the longman.

I did really well with my bench. A lot of low priced scrubs. The only pricey one is '63 Ward at $4.8M, but he can hit and play all over the infield, so he'll serve as a good PH/super sub.

My lineup consists of '05 Mauer, '09 Morneau, '07 Roberts, '50 Rosen, '01 Eckstein, '50 Doby, '56 Williams, '10 Crawford. I'm mulling the option of starting Ward at 3B and scrapping Doby to improve my pitching staff, but I'll probably stand pat. I've felt much better about teams, but this one definitely has some balance to it, with 200+ HR, 175+ SB (at a 75% clip), 800+ walks and an OPS of .843.

I must have changed stratagies a half dozen times during the A.L. draft.  With all the crappy starting pitchers and wasted salaries, I knew I was going to have to use 5 of my teammate slots on pitchers.  I already had Horlen (SP), Fisher (RP) and Wilhelm (RP) thanks to Floyd Robinson. I was going to use Freehan (courtesy of McLain) and draft the cheap version of Mauer (along with '04 Santana), but that would cost me 2 more teammate slots.  So instead, I tried to load up on usable seasons of the nominated hitters.   The key decision for me came when I decided not to use a full-season Greenwell.  Instead, I wanted to get a stud Ted Williams season so my offense wouldn't totally suck.  That meant that my 4th SP slot (after McLain, Horlen, Peters) would have to be Lackey (1.33 whip) or Garcia (1.36 whip).  Hopefully, I can score enough runs to win when my thre good pitchers are starting.  Here is my team...
