Word on the Street Topic

Question: What should I trust more, the "word on the street" or the information in the scholarship email? Word on the street is telling me I'm behind but the scholarship email makes me thing I'm ahead. I do know the word on the street came out much earlier than when I received the email, but still it's disconcerting.

Thanks in advance...

Trust the schollie e-mail.  If you don't mind to post what the e-mail says, we can probably tell you if you're ahead or behind.

Thanks angmar,

Email is pretty explicit. It says:

"You're my top choice right now. If I could sign today, I would! Thanks again for believing in me."

You're winning right now, no question about it.  Now if it's a Sim you're battling, you "should" be good with not spending any extra money on the player.  However.........there have been a few coaches post on different threads lately saying that they took the lead on the Sim, never got another schollie message, but watched the kid end up signing with the Sim team, so you need to be at least a little cautious.  The surefire way to avoid that is to knock the Sim completely off the player's considering list.  If you do that, Simmy won't reappear and it's a lock at that point (assuming that another human coach doesn't get involved, of course).

If it's a human coach you're battling, entirely different story.  Yes, you're winning now, but be aware that he may have quite a bit of money still to spend and may make a late push.  Anyway, best of luck with your battle, hope you sign your guy and hoped that helped a little!  If you have any more questions, feel free to sitemail me and I'll try (can't guarantee because I'm kind of busy at work these next few days, plus my family in is town, so it's a little hectic) to get back to you with an answer as soon as I can.

Okay, I see it's a human that you're battling.  Again, you're in the lead......for now.  Be prepared for a late push.

word on the street only updates twice a day, so things can change considerably between periods. Always trust the most recent scholarship email.

Yep, this is exactly right.

read both, trust the schollie email, timining is key - and consider waiting for long enough after the 2:00 cycle to see what FSS says - it does not update immediately
