I've yet to see a player outside of D1 stay for less than three years (besides transferring because he's upset).  What do you mean that some stay for only three years?  Can you clarify that?

I have never seen a player at D3/D2 leave in less than 4 years unless they were transferring to another school.

Redshirting it almost always worth it if they accept it.

RSing is one of the best strategies I have found in rebuilding teams. Adds IQ, adds to the player's skill, there is no downside in D2 or D3.

But in DI, if the play is good enough, he might leave after any given year, so use them while you have them if you think they have pro potential.
