Come one, come all!  Wait... Come 6!

We have six openings in the CIAA in Knight D2.  The conference has been improving, and tied for the 2nd most NT bids this past season, with 5.  Not bad for a conference with 6 humans, one in rebuilding mode.

Conference member and perennial contender rogelio posted some notes in the Knight forum:
We are hoping to add at least couple more coaches this offseason.  The two openings that are worth a look are:

Virginia State - The 7 returning juniors have a very nice mix of talent to work with on this fastbreak & FCP team.  4 open scholarships will allow a coach to find some additional speed, but a quick look at some of the player's improvements last season should give a sense of what this team can be; and

Livingstone - This team now has 9 open scholarships and a B- prestige.  Earl Jiron is not returning for his 5th year (I'm not sure why not).  So, a new coach will have plenty of opportunity to remake this team completely in 2 seasons and be winning NT games in 3.
Now, depending on your style and situation, one of the other four may be appealing to you.  Come on over!

Will there be a problem because Virginia State has 7 players in one class (as per the rule where you can only have 6)?

Also I've only got one season into DIII in Knight right now. I'm not sure the school would want me, and even if they do, I may want to stick with the team I'm at for a bit before considering a move up to DII.

There are no real problems with it.  Assuming you keep them all, you'll have 7 juniors this season and 7 seniors the next.  When they graduate, you'll get 6 scholarships worth of money, the maximum.  Of course, you can cut guys in the meantime, if you want, to even things out.

Ba-dump bump.  You have until 11:59 pm.

One season is all you need in D3 to move up to most D2 positions.  IMHO, D2 is easier than D3.  Beside which, my point has always been that you can take advantage of sim-recruited super-classed teams.  Those 7 returning juniors at Virginia State have some upside.  So you should be able to coach your way into a better prestige by the time that class graduates.  Then you'll have an opportunity to build something very strong.

By contrast, St. Paul's has 7 returning seniors, but they have no talent.  The only time to take over that steaming pile of a team is after this upcoming season.  Then you'd probably be starting mostly freshmen, which can be very good if you're willing to invest a couple seasons.
