Chapman just won the D3 national championship in Smith - a pretty quick, very talented offensive team, but not very athletic or defensively stout. They were able to win without the usual ath/def combo, and it's refreshing to see that there truly isn't just one way to win. Just wanted to give a shout out to someone winning in a non-conventional way...

Interesting team.  I'd say across the board the ratings are "above average" by a decent bit for every rating, but not a single one (save for maybe BH) is outstanding.  Pretty cool to see a "non-traditional" team win (although they have a history of very good success)

That team could give all the "FCP is too strong" proponents some ammunition.  It's not a bad team by any sense of the imagination, but it's certainly not one that I would expect to be able to win a National Title.  That being said, congrats to Manya, nice job coaching that squad!

And it's absolutely not a team that should be forcing 22 TOs per game.

Manya's career path should be of interest to any new D3 coach who is frustrated by not winning right away.  He took over this team in season 21 and did not make the post-season (not even the PIT) in his first ELEVEN seasons.  In six of those seasons he didn't get to double digits in wins.  But when he figured it out, he became an incredibly successful coach, as he won his first national title in his 13th season and now has four national championships (including back-to-back in seasons 45 & 46) to his credit at Chapman.

Congrats Manya!
