the C prestige team has no chance. between the major distance boundaries on the costs (200 miles, 360, 1440?) everything costs about the same. so just like 10 miles and 190 make little difference, so would 450 and 1300. the higher boundary, where it goes from 1300 CV to 2000CV, is about a 50% bonus your way, but i cant remember exactly where it kicks in - just find a player at the same distance as your opponent and you will check.
Anyway, the other school's prestige advantage gives him significantly more than double the effort of yours. if he's below that distance threshold, you have basically no chance, and even if he is, you are still going to need to out spent him by a lot - you would probably want to plan for double.
you have to think about the money too. if he is in a BCS conf and you are not, or he has more money, then it really hurts your already slim chances. # of scholarships is important too.
the rule of thumb i use is generally you cant fight someone more than a letter grade or so above you, without a significant distance advantage.
