I really don't get your issue, swamphawk. You want "home field advantage" built into the SIM, so that the home team wins more often at home. And your argument, as I understand it, is that because "home field advantage" is a real-life thing AND a factor in other SIM games, that HBD is somehow deficient for not having it.
I suppose I see your point - in real life, the crowd might be a small factor. I'd guesstimate the crowd's effect as .001 out of .100. I'd further say that park factors, in real life, account for .010 of the "home field advantage". Lastly, I'd guesstimate that travel/home/family might have, at most, a .010 effect.
In HBD, there is no travel penalty (i.e. no numerical accounting for air travel, 4AM arrival times, long road trips, etc) nor is there any crowd effect. There is, however, a significant park factor effect that already exists in HBD.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that while HBD's "home field advantage" is negligible or absent, it's a 1 10th of 1% problem. You CAN give yourself a home field advantage if you build your team to suit an extreme park (hitter or pitcher friendly, I've seen it work both ways). HBD is deep, but it's not equipped to model the real-life issues that make up a "home field advantage".
I, for one, will not be sending a ticket. I think there are much more important things to address than a 1/10th of 1% problem. I appreciate you think otherwise - hey, everyone is entitled to an opinion - but you are not going to find much support for your campaign.
