accidently rescinded scholarships? Topic

has anyone ever received site mail like this before?

"We have been alerted that the scholarship of _____ was accidentally rescinded. Any recruiting dollars you have spent on him have been returned to your budget."

What's up with this? This should not be allowed to happen! Not my fault the owner pushed the wrong button to rescind the scholarship, only to find out there's nothing better available!

I received 2 of those site mail's today!

Wow... CS can be great if they get to a problem before the rest of us are affected.. Once $$ has been spent it is a HUGE mistake to allow players back.. There is a recruiting timeline and that has been destroyed. If this happened to me, it might sour me on the game completely unless the rescinding of the schollies was somehow done without the owner's knowledge.. (systemic failure... if that is the case they owe everyone involved a free season.) but if a guy (accidently?) cut the wrong player and CS couldn't get there before it became an issue.. too bad.. write a letter complain scream.. get to the bottom of it

I have seen this happen before. Either way someone will end up mad. You can send 10394825489028 letters and scream but nothing is going to happen. It is a waste of your time (talking to CS, unfortunately, usually is)

If they fixed it b4 the issue its dead. Otherwise they screwed up I would be royally ****** YOu then wasted all that time in recruiting its like a slap in the face. If it was there screw up as to why they were cut then I dont know what to do but it isnt ur problem u shld get the players

I accidently rescinded a scholarship because the rescind scholarship button is right next to the restore eligibility button. Whenn my Soph wouldn't take the RS, I hit the wrong button and he was gone. I immediately sent a letter to CS and they basically said too bad. I asked if they would try to separate the buttons so that wouldn't happen to others and they said they would look into it. That was after Season 28. I guess they are still looking into it.

They never do this after signings, only before.

That is the only time you can rescind a scholarship.

This guy basically target these transfers and now hes not only out them but possibly others as a result. I would be really ****** and ask for double $ I put into those guys or want those guys period if they wouldnt do it i would write tickets all day long every day from all my accounts.

Doesn't it pop up saying "Are you sure you want to? Yes/no?" I can see you accadently pushing it, but pushing yes to afterwords?

Good Job!

Except that was clearly not what I was talking about. They won't put a player back on his old team once signings have started (ie take him off of one team and put him on another)

Glad you know the rules on when to yank someones scholarship tho.

They won't give you double the money, or even an extra penny, I would be ****** off as a competing coach to know coach x got an extra 3k of recruiting monies.

The cycle is never ending. Be the bigger person and say 'darn' and move on.

Yes there is a popup that says are you sure, but I just hit that button too because I was in a rush. My fault no doubt, but it wouldn't be hard to space the buttons differently. I tend to rush.

Here is what CS said...

"I can sympathize with your argument. For now our policy is that we will return a player who was accidentally rescinded as long as he hasn't signed. We'll certainly consider altering that policy though."
9/18/2009 6:37 PM
I see no big deal with them returning a player if he hasn't signed. Everyone gets there monies back and everyone is still undecided/unsigned. Its not like you just missed out on anything. Jump on someone who is considering a different coach (maybe the coaches player who took the player you wanted back? ) or find one who isn't considering someone.
