I designated someone for assignment recently who was out of options. We are in the ML playoffs right now, in the LCS round. Someone claimed my player, but I used revokable waivers to pull him back. Since I designated him I can't reassign him to the big league club, so my only options are to release or trade him. I just readded him to my 40-man roster. What happens if we go to rollover and I still haven't traded or released him? Does he automatically get released, or will I retain him because he is on the 40-man?
