Scheduling Etiquette Topic

After reading OR's scheduling thread, I was wondering if there was a consensus on how to set your non-conf schedule if you know that you aren't going to be at that school next season.

Is it fair to other coaches (that you schedule) that your present school might be sim-run next season?

Is it fair to the coach that might pick up your team to schedule a bunch of sims?

Or does one simply try to find a balance? Opinions?

Whoever picks up your team knows they are getting a somewhat unknown sched. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm assuming you're talking about games proposed to you.

If you are going to be gone the next year, I'd send a site mail and to the coach who requests a game and let them know.

If you'll be gone (assuming you move up), you've obviously had some measure of success, so I'd schedule the way you have in the past.

I would just go ahead and set a schedule anyways becaus A. It would help whoever took over that team and B. If you happened to decide you want to stay you would already be set.

im not sure what the answer is, but i know that i am somewhat displeased when someone challenges me and i accept and then they are gone the next year and a sim is in theri place.

but i get over it

Sounds like the best idea.

This is one aspect of the game that I really dislike. I wish there was a grace period for new coaches to be able to re-schedule part-if not all of their NC games prior to the start of the season. If a coach takes over an extremely weak or extremely tough NC schedule the first season can almost be a waste in building/keeping a certain prestige level.

Sort of like the ability to cut players. Maybe give you the first one free, but then have the second one hurt your rep. After all, this is breaking a contract.
