Just want to confirm... Topic

I know this has been brought up am million times but I would just like to confirm. I know you have to offer the prospect what they ask for initially. If they tell you they are unsure and do not accept immediately can I withdraw the offer and still get my compensation for them? Or do I have to leave the offer up until the end of the season/when they officially decline my offer?

You have to leave your offer on the table until either he, his agent, or his mummy dearest completely rejects your offer. Then, and ONLY then, will you receive a compensation pick in next year's draft.

You have to get the [X] beside your offer.

No [X], no compensation.

Do you get compensation for a compensatory (Type A) pick that goes unsigned? Or is it just the first round pick? Just curious

Thanks

Compensation comes only for non-Supplemental Round picks.

I believe though that if they increase their demand and you dont offer it, you do get compensation.

It's first, second and third round picks.

Well, yes, who gives a rat's *** about their 10th rounder?

I think if a player comes back to you with higher demands you get an X until you make him a new offer, so I think csherwood is right - no X, no comp.

You'll get an X for offering below their demands too, but in that case, you would get no compensation.
