Does having a higher IQ in something help you beat it when you play it? I know that when you play a certain offense, your IQ against that offense will increase slightly because you are gameplanning against it. When players are seniors they normally have D or D+ in most offense/defenses because of this. Would practicing every O/D, even if just 2 or 3 minutes a day, help you beat these other offenses and defenses because your players had more knowledge about them?

I highly doubt that the game is that deep...

NO

But playing against an offensive set will slightly improve your own offensive set. Not enough to move it up more then 1/3 of a letter grade.

Same with defense.

Well, at least that's why the claim our players iq's go up slightly in the sets they're not practicing. But I've seen several instances of that happening without ever having played against that set (i.e. freshmen who had improved without ever playing a FB opponent).

So I kind of think that claim is BS.
