:-)) Yeah, I'm hoping that there's so much recognizably talentented players in each of the 7 eras that getting a fun team of All-Stars & Hall of Famers would be easy for everyone... without having to do too much homework :-))

I'll book you a spot for now & send you some reseach in a word file once we get this thing filled if it would help...

Sounds great. I'm definitely interested. I have some ideas though and some things I think need to be clarified, so I'll talk to you on live.

Okay, I'll just post here now that I'm home. There are basically two issues I see that should be addressed. The first one is players who cover two eras. For example, Julio Franco would be in the 1985 draft pool and the 2005 draft pool. I would suggest that if '85 Julio Franco is drafted, then '05 Julio Franco is not available. Also, when the 1982 draft pool of rookies come up (17 seasons after the 1965 draft pool), Julio Franco would not be eligible to be drafted because '02 Julio Franco would still be in the league. Even if he has been cut by the team that had him, only '02 Julio Franco will be eligible to be drafted and not '82 Julio Franco. Not until a player's "clock" runs out (out of eligible WIS seasons) could he potentially be drafted again as a rookie. This applies even if '85 Julio Franco goes undrafted in the initial draft. He still keeps progressing each season. I think that will give the best sense of continuity.

Also, the other thing is the progression of the 2005 player pool. I would say cut those players at either 2009 or 2010. After either 2009 or 2010, those players clocks run out (are eligible to potentially be drafted again as rookies) and the next pool of rookies will be 1885 players (whose clocks have expired).

Those are my suggestions. But I don't care how everything is handled, as long as those things are addressed.

Welcome Ox !

* Yeah, I had thought of the overlapping career issue as well. I just figured that most players aren't that good 20 seasons into their careers... especially with 7 different seasons to Draft from. Hell- if we make it 20 seasons, that would be some feat :-))

* As far as hitting the max in the max 2009 season-- I'm not sure how to play that... by the time it would take us to play out 5 seasons (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, & 2009) pwe'll be ready for the 2010 update. After that we could Keep the players for a repeat 2010 season until the 2011 season opens up. I'm open to any kind of twists and turns. I just want a fun interesting league and we as a group can iron out the details as we go along...

right on leeelci ! If we get this filled, we'll have one hell of a Season 1 Draft !

And their should be plenty of more good drafts ahead, not only of Rookies in 7 different seasons, but relief studs, 1-year wonders, ect.
