Go for it this year? Topic

On my SUNY Farmingdale team in IBA, I have a schedule of ALL SIM AI's except for one game, which is in conference. Would it be smart to sign all transfers this season and make a run for it this year to get around 20 wins and then try and move to D2? Thanks for the advice.

You wont be able to move to DI. No matter what. But you could make a move to a high DII school. Evan at that you will have to wait 4-5 seasons to go DI

it depends on what you want out of the game. . . .

if you want to get to DI as fast as you can then thats the way to go. But you'll have a rough go at it once you get there if you plan on sticking around. . .

if you plan on being competitive in this game then i recommend sticking it out for at least three seasons in DIII. Four would be better. Learn the nuances of the game. It takes about two season's to get a good grasp of things. Then spend about the same time in DII (3-5 seasons). By that time you'll be a seasoned coach and ready to navigate the lower levels of DI.

To be a successful long-term coach you should be well rounded which can only come from experience and trial and error at all levels and aspects of the game.
