I am curious as to opinions regarding the quality of the NT selection committee decisions including bubbles burst, seedings, bids, etc
Do you think the RPI method is accurate? If so, is it consistent with NCAA committee seeding trends?

RPI is given slightly more credit in WIS when picking the NT teams. Buy that's OK with me. Due to the human factor within the NCAA, a team with an excellent RPI is sometimes omitted from the tournament.

Thanks for responding. I agree that the RPI has been a solid predictor for years in NCAA hoops. How about factors such as wins v. Top 25? I have beaten many teams that have ended up in the Top 25, but do not have credit unless they were ranked when we played.

They'll look more at the quality of wins as determined by your opponents' rpi. If you beat an unranked team that's now #1 rpi, yes, that does help you. (And helps you more than beating a team that was #1 when you beat them but is now 100 rpi.)

The big stuff is going to be your rpi, record and CT performance. Everything else combined might have the power to move you 1-2 slots in either direction, nothing more.

The other thing to remember is that seeding is less important in HD than real life, simply because there is more parity in HD. For instance: In real life, the 1 vs. 16, 2 vs. 15 games have enormous talent discrepancies. That's often not the case in HD. Or you'll often see an 8/9 winner with as much talent as the 1 seed.
