Question for everyone:

Let's say you play against a guy who's ML pitching staff is wrecked (almost everyone at 0%). I think it's proper etiquette to post something in the league chat or send the owner and the commish a note informing them of the situation.

In this case, the other owners didn't say anything (his staff was wrecked for a couple of weeks) as they were delighted with winning almost every game against him. Mind you this is a team that has won 8 of the last 9 division titles, so it's not like this guy normally sucks.

Thoughts?

Trade chats usually work best for me.

I also try to point out when a robo manager takes affect.

If you want to play in a good world, something should be said. Owners who enjoy crushing totally fatigued teams are the same owners who'll traderape a n00b and say "Hey, I'm just doing everything I can to make MY team better!"

I agree. While I would try to handle it via sitemail, but I wouldn't hesitate to call him out on the world chat.

Posting it on the board is best, but try not to make it a *calling out*. Focus on the team name, not the owner ... post the most recent game link ... look at the schedule to see how many games it's been happening. IOW, state the facts and wait for a response from the owner and if it's a private world the commissioner.

If it's not resolved within 2-3 cycles, the commissioner should deal with it privately.

A public posting is beneficial to ALL owners to stay on top of things. And to teach newer owners what's what.

I called the guy out on the public chat board because it ****** me off that the other owners that were crushing him every game didn't say anything, which is pretty lame if you ask me.

I see that, but what I've done in those cases is call out the ownership, the ones who accepted easy wins without saying a word. They're worse for a world than the owner with 0 pitchers.

I'm the commish of the league in question and I'd like to thank mal for bringing this issue up. It has not been going on for an extended period of time, but might have been spotted over the last 4-5 series. Those other teams may or may not have noticed, but you certainly did, mal, so thanks.

The etiquette called for is pretty open: post in the league chat, trade chat the owner and/or the commish, sitemail the owner and/or the commish. Really, the important thing is not where you bring this to attention but rather how.

Don't presume guilt or resort to namecalling. Give the league the benefit of the doubt until it is clear that others are failing to act.

Are you kidding me? 4-5 series... WTF????? It shouldn't happen for 2-3 games, much less more than 10-15. And, frankly, in good worlds, it doesn't happen.
11/6/2009 11:52 AM
it doesn't happen that owners get distracted by real life situations? travel? personal crises? you are in leagues, jsturgis, where everyone updates their rotations and bullpens after every single game, 3 times a day? i don't think i could play in one of those leagues.

c'mon, man. i'm fairly solid around here and i've run tired pitchers out there when my job/family/illnes/travel all swirl into one. get real. it can happen to anyone for 2-3 games. there's no reason to call 911 for less than a day of inactivity.

It was going on for 40-50 GAMES!!!
11/6/2009 12:16 PM
It started on the 10/18 PM2 cycle...no excuse for me to be the first person to say anything on 11/6!!

the 4-5 series i'm referring to is when the other teams started to regularly put up double-digit runs. prior to those games, said team was still playing somwhat compe***ively.
