I was reading the hoops 101 page it is said, "

Doesn't require a big presence inside to be effective, allows the offense to spread the floor and use quickness to penetrate to the basket or draw the defense in for open outside shots.

Does this mean you can recruit very crappy PF and C and still be very good? or just recruit bigs with high REB and low LP and still be effective?

Has any one ever had success with this offense while not having a scoring big man?

And I'm winning with almost no rebounding and truly no low post. My four post players have average athleticism of 73.5 (and speed of 51.5). The average rebounding is at 50.5 and the low post rating is at 35.5.

With a solid SOS (19) I'm somewhat surprised that I'm outrebounding my opponents by 6 a game. I'm almost always facing teams with an average rebound rating much higher than mine but I typically win the battle of the boards.

What blows me away is that my post players are shooting 52.4% from the field. My *best* low post rating is 39 but I'm pretty unstoppable in the post.

I've known for a while how important athleticism is in big men. I didn't really get it until this team which I thought would be borderline top 25 is currently ranked #1 in both the poll and RPI.

So getting back to the original question, or at least the one that oldresorter suggests, I think player B wins. My team of B's has been beating a lot of teams with A's.

Didn't mention it in the other thread where I made this post, but this was a flex team. It's D3 -- and in a very dead world -- but my team ended up going 30-2 with the #1 overall RPI.

Don't think you can "recruit very crappy PF and C and still be very good". But I do think you can discount the importance of LP. But again my team was in D3 so it could have no real meaning on how things work.

You can have big men with low low post that are still a very big threat to the other team. Think about it against protecting yourself against certain defense. If your opponent plays a minus defense do you have elite perimeter threats to burn him? And by the same token, if your opponent extends his defense and plays plus, then you either have elite low post scorers and also burn him on offensive boards OR you just have ridiculous rebounders so you keep getting more possessions and/or putbacks. You can't get posts with LP ratings of 5 and win a championship, but if you have one low post scorer and the rest just athletic rebounding guys you might be able to be successful
