If you exceed player payroll in arbitration hearings, where and in what order do they take money from other areas? Thanks.

I believe it's listed somewhere... but it starts with prospect and/or coach hiring, and if there's nothing there, they proceed to medical, training, and then HS or college scouting.

That's not likely 100% accurate, but I'm pretty sure it's close.

Money will be transferred without penalty.

It should be penalized. Accounting for arbitration demands should be part of your planning during the budget process. I've never understood why auto-transfers shouldn't also be penalized in the same way that manual transfers are.

I agree totally, but for the sake of a complete answer, I felt I needed to mention that.

Right, because that's the way it works. Which is what the original post was looking for.

Does anyone know the order from which they reallocate money? Is it prospect or coach payroll first?

I forgot that you couldn't offer long-term deals during the arbitration process. I had a busy weekend and figured I could do it today. Lost two big cases and now I'm stuck with a payroll problem.

I'm pretty sure that you can offer LT deals during arb...

you can. on the page where you enter your offer, there's a link in the text to long-term contracts.

it's sort of hidden, like a bush that you need to burn to descend a staircase in legend of zelda.

Oh, you've got to be joking. Why wouldn't WIS just leave the original long-term link on the arbitration report page up? Wow. I just wasted some money I could really use. Live and learn.

But does anybody know the order in which they take money from other budgets/departments to cover exceeding payroll costs? I know I've seen it before I just can't find it.
