I hate small caps....was afraid of having too few innings and am going on vacation in December for 5 days with (hopefully) no internet access. Hoping that I won't get crushed by pitching fatigue while gone.

The table below represents the quality of pitching. As you would expect, the high-salary pitching staffs lead the way...

Only 300K+ pitchers are included in the totals. All the # numbers are weighted by innings pitched. The table is sorted by ERC#

That's good, because looking at the pitching sure wasn't a lot of fun for me. Nothing personal, but I sure hope sford and ballantine didn't draft enough innings...
11/25/2009 2:42 PM
Well, the difference is 199 innings of mopup that ballantine has and sford doesn't. ballantine should be able to keep his "good" pitchers fresh while sford could fall into the fatigue spiral.

Frankly, I'm surprised people didn't draft more mopup guys. Adding one 25-30 inning mopup is not enough, in my opinion. I have five. So does ballantine. I like to use one guy to start AND another to relieve (in the same game). And it'll take some time to get those guys back to 100% so it's good to have at least 3-4 mopups on your roster.

Crap, I just realized that I sorted by ERA# instead of ERC#. I am re-posting the above tables.

roster spots have more value at lower caps. a mopup guy takes up a useful spot so his net cost is greater than $200k.

Oh, I so wish I could have been in this theme.
11/25/2009 5:22 PM
i put my team in Safeco to try and stretch innings, plus the low cap hitters will also allow me to stretch innings out. i will probably offer up kid carsey to the pitch count gods a few times to rest my arms.
11/25/2009 9:56 PM
Here are the hitting numbers. Since many are cutting corners with PA's, I included all hitters over 300K. Even with this, there are teams averaging under 600 PA per position. Pitchers hitting is not included.

Net SB = SB - 2*CS
