Position Change affect hitting? Topic

I'm stumped why Wolf O' Shea is slumping so bad this year. He is 32 and had very little ratings drop, but is hitting .180 less than his career OPS after 280 ABs. The only change I've made is moving him from CF to 2B.

Am I just overreacting. or is there something to this.

You're overreacting. Positions have nothing to do with hitting.

It is what it is, a slump. He's not a bad hitter but I'm not salivating at his ratings-- mediocre vRH, mediocre batting eye, mediocre power. I'm sure no one complained in season 5 when he hit .329 with 76 extra base hits which was obviously way above his head; this is just another outlier season.

He's also 32, and could be beginning to decline.

I've seen several guys whose ratings looked good, but whose stats began to slip quickly at age 32-34. Guys go from All-Star to waiver-wire material -- even with very good ratings.

That was at Coors...

Coors doesn't make you an evil wizard. If he were playing in a 20-foot box he still shouldn't have stats that good with those ratings.

Actually, it's a little known fact that Coors DOES make you an evil wizard if you drink enough.

Oh...you meant the field? Right. Umm...right.

Extreme pull hitters do poorly against pitchers who pitch to the outside part of the plate ;).

btw, Spearmint Rhinos?
