Never mind. Shot clock doesn't start until after the other team makes a basket. However, this was the first time I've seen this in HD.

Team A makes basket.

Team B inbounds the ball after a made basket, but shot clock doesn't start right away, even though game clock is still running.

The issue was the difference between Team A's basket and Team B putting up a shot was 39 seconds.

Wiz, the shot clock does not re-set with a blocked shot. There either needs to be a change in possession, or the ball needs to hit the rim.

this looks ok. team A basket 5:46. team B inbounds @ 5:41. Shot clock expires @ 5:06. :35 seconds has run off...

how so? he explained exactly what happend.

well his first post was wondering why there was a 40 second shot clock. that is where he failed.

doesn't seem like a failure to me. he figured it out himself, just 10min later. then, rather than deleting his post he posted his own error.

i know this is the rule (at least in the NBA) but didnt tie it together. and i'm sure there are quite a few HD users that this was informative for. so i'm still unsure of where the failure was.
