Teams failing to put up 40 Topic

Is it me or had there been an influx of teams since potential was added that have failed to score 40 points in a single game. Actually, I've seen quite often where teams have not been able to put up 30 points.

Did they jack up the D too much and kill the offensive ratings?

I know small sample size, but would be interested what the overall percentages are.

Just browsing through a few D-2 divisions, it would appear that a team would fail to score at least 49 points for 1 in every 6 games played.

yeah, the recruit ratings combined with the extraordinary impact of the slow down has created lower than normal scores.

Almost every team I face in DI has 8+ guys with 90+ defense.

The comical thing about that N.Illinois exhibition was they were running a full court press, while running their offense at average tempo. In the meantime, you were pushing the ball up the floor, yet NI managed just 18 points for the game and only 4 in the second half.

I'm also seeing a lot more games where one team is consistently turning the ball over 25+ times per game.

In the most recent Naismith DIII season, I won the NT. For the season, my average winning margin was 63-43. I held 9 opponents under 40 points. I had a talented team and faced a lot of slowdown tempos. I used average tempo but slowed it down when ahead.

You are talking about a team that is starting 4 FR and a SO.

Maybe slowdown and defensive ratings create less points than in real life, but this is a horrible example.

In fact, if your schedule was any tougher, you would likely be getting blown out even more.
