Just a thought I had, and not saying this should be a priority for WIS. How do you think it would/could work if D2 teams were allowed to recruit ineligible DI players at the SAME time as DI teams? If the player achieved eligibility before the end of recruiting, or if he decided to sit out a year at his chosen DI school, then of course, he'd go onto the DI school that signed him. However, if he did not achieve eligibility and he decided to play the year in D2, he'd play (for one year only) with the D2 school that signed him. He'd return to the DI recruit pool the following season. Depending on the grades achieved at his D2 school, he might have become eligible. WIS could program a requirement for a minimum of 30 minutes or so of SH, but if he were an elite or near elite DI, he'd already have skill to dominate or at least excel during his 1-year D2 run. I'm not sure, but I think this is how it works in RL, to some degree. And it could make for some very interesting D2 recruiting strategy. Thoughts?
