WIS made (I think) a nice change in the past to have recruits have variable IQ in offense and defense and made them have the potential to understand multiple defenses.

I'd like to see it altered a little more before any new changes are finalized. I believe the press defense has gained more traction because there is a greater chance that a recruit will already know how to run it versus other defenses. Currently we have as options: man, zone, press, man/press, zone/press. That would seem to suggest that 60% of the recruits will potentially run press.

Perhaps an added option of zone/man would even it up and add a little more spice to the action.

I understand that it looks like recruits would be more likely to know the press but it sure seems to me that the majority of teams (especially D1) play M2M. Are there really so many teams playing Press that this is an issue?

IQ is not even important as it is. Really, who cares if they are a C- or an F coming in? Anything above the teens WE wise and they will max out anyway.

I'd much rather have different type of IQ and have it based on potential. If hes maxed out ( 99-100) in all cores he should be able to get a high IQ. If hes great at def, but average at off he should max out somewhere at like A IQ and B- def. Right now you can take the kid with the worst skills (1 in every core) and have him get an A+ at the end of his career. Most people with high BB IQ also have a high set of skill level. Fixing this while lowering the 99-100 core players and adjusting IQ to have a bigger impact could/would/should make the high skill/high IQ players much more rare, but much more greater impacts on the court.

I don't see IQ and skills as having that much of a relationship in RL and disagree that "Most" people with a high IQ also have a high set of skill level.

There are a lot of people who know where to be on the court but didn't have the skills to make it to the next level. There are also a lot of people who are extremely skilled and yet sometimes clueless about what they are doing on the court.

As a final example, guys who no longer have the skills to compete on the court, turn to coaching. Are you saying their IQ isn't high, even though their skills are completely degraded?

I am not saying it has to be exactly tied to it, but I think abily/skill set do play a big role in IQ. I just don't think every player who comes in should gain IQ at the same rate regardless of PT or anything and always max out.

i don't think it is a big deal, but if there is an imbalance in starting iq favoring one set, i think its worth the (likely trivial) change to balance it out.

i am not sure it is actually unbalanced, from experience i could definitely buy 60%, but also could buy 50%, and that could be something like 25% man 25% zone 20% press 15% man/press 15% zone/press which is roughly even. especially if players with 2 defensive iqs tend to have lower iq.
