How much SH would you give a Soph with a 1.7 after no SH?

Depends on how important he is to my team.

Enlightening as always. I think the question was how much study hall in order to avoid flunking. I can figure out how much to give him if I want him to flunk.

Yeah great. Good job! I'd hope you could figure out how to fail a kid. Totally missed the point of my post. My comment was very appropriate for your question. If you'd like future responses to your questions I would advice you to be nicer next time.

If he were very important to my teams success that year I would give him way to much 20+. If he weren't I would likely not go beyond 10 and hope for the best.

The kids current overall gpa is also important I have noticed it is a lot easier to start a kid off with a high gpa his Fr year then it is to bring it up after he starts his career with a lower one.

15? Depends on how many minutes he was studying to get the 1.7gpa. If he was doing 5 then I'd bump it to 15 or so. If he is a complete idiot and pulled a 1.7 while already devoting 15 minutes to studyhall then I'd lower everything to 10 and really crank the studying up.

Btw, low gpa early in a career can cause headaches. Just remember that whatever grades he finishes the year with will kinda sorta establish a new baseline for the next year. Mybe. I think. Well, that's been my experience.

Now that is an answer! When your answer is "It depends", your point is lost.

It depends on how important to your team did nothing to answer the question. Your second response did. If you can't understand a simple question, don't bother answering "it depends". That adds nothing to the post other than seeing you replying to every post you can.
