More Turnovers than Assists? Topic

I run triangle/man to man at Armstrong Atlantic State and my team has more TO than AST through 16 games....my opponents also have more TO than AST.

I'm honestly not sure about the college game, I'll probably do some research, however in pro basketball, a team never has more TO than AST over the course of a season and its generally not that close...an 8+ margin in favor of AST?

Is this happening to anyone else? Is this a glitch? Are AST not being awarded properly?

Any help and opinions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Your assists are pretty much in line with RL. (you assist on about 62% of all baskets).

But your turnovers are high. Probably in part to your PAS ratings of your guards. I usually try to have starting guards at least 70+.

Ya you might want to take a look at a couple of the different offenses as certain ones like fast break just need better speed and ath.

When something like 70% of teams (that's a guess) run some sort of pressing defense, turnovers are going to be more prevalent.

Looks like your problem is Wade. 4.6 TO, the next highest is 2.4. . .which is your other guard. Are you giving them really high distribution? Because sometimes dialing back the distribution a few notches can greatly reduce the turnovers. .without neccesarly effecting the scoring. (in other words, too much distribution often seems to translate into turnovers instead of additional shots). Not having seen your distribution(Naturally) Can't say if this is the case in your situation.,

Looking it up out of curiosity:
Doing a sort by "most turnovers" for the current COllege basketball season, there are at LEAST 39 teams with more turnovers than assists.(The list cut off after 50 teams)

I took a look at a team for the last couple seasons myself and saw that they too (Presbyterian) had more TO than AST for those seasons. I admittedly didn't look much into CBB stats, but was surprised that they're quite different from the NBA as far as AST/TO goes. Thank you for your research.
