Thanks for all the advice guys...put up with me for a bit more.

Rule 5 has me confused. Here is my edit rosters page (below). bunch of these guys are Rule 5 eligible, which means, I think...I can lose them to somebody else before the year begins. I want to keep some of 'em.

To protect them do I have to put them on my 40 Man Roster?

And then...how do I drop guys from it? Haven't figured that out.

thanks for being so helpful. I'm getting it. But I'm afraid I'll make a big blunder and screw up a roter move.

We cannot see your Edit Rosters page. Only you can see your players via that page.

To protect guys from Rule 5, you need to add them to your 40 man roster.

There is also a transaction for removing guys from your 40 man roster. You should see it on the Edit Rosters page.

If they have no options , you will have to clear them through waivers before you can remove them from the 40. If you cannot afford to wait, you can designate them for assignment. That will remove them from the 40 immediately, but will also leave them unassigned until they clear (unless they are claimed).

First, decide whether any of the Rule 5-eligible guys has any kind of major league future for you, even as a bench player or back-of-the-bullpen guy. If they do, add them to your 40-man roster to protect them. (If you have more guys to protect than spots available, check to see of there's anyone already on your 40 who shouldn't be and cut them loose. Then prioritize who gets your open 40 slots).

Don't waste 40-man roster spots on career minor leaguers.

Thanks anton...How do drop guys from the 40 man list. I can't find a 40 man list anywhere?

On the Roster Management/Edit Rosters (or View Rosters, but you can't do anything from there) page, if you select view by Status Info it will show you who's on the 40 and who isn't. (Everyone in the majors, by definition, has to be on the 40).

If a player is in the majors and you want to drop him from the 40, you have to release him (if you just want him to go away) or designate him for assignment (if you wouldn't mind keeping him in the minors afterwards). If a minor leaguer is on the 40, in most cases all you have to do is use the '40-Man Remove' action.

You should have an option on your edit rosters screen called "Status Info" (look for a drop-down menu on the screen). One of the columns should be "40-man roster". If there is a "Y" in the column, then he is on your 40-man roster.

If you want to drop a guy from the 40-man roster, click on his circle (or box, whatever it is) and select "40-man remove". As anton said, you may have to waive him first, but if you're trying to remove him from the 40-man roster, it probably means you don't want him anyway. Anybody on your ML roster has to be on your 40-man roster.

Good luck in HBD- I think I might have played with you somewhere over in a SimLeague. It's a tough transition.
