MLB CF to 2B...Any problem Topic

I have this guy (below) who has been my CF for two seasons (my first year with the team). I want to move him to 2B, at least for this season. Will that move present any special problems for him, defensively, at 2B?.

Newby question again, I know. He's a less than marginal CF...but should handle 2B decently. Mostly I'm doing it as a defensive move as it allows me to put a better defender in CF.

This is the guy (below) I think will be my 2B a year from now. He's listed as a SS but projects better as a ML 2B/3B. So even though he's listed as a SS, I can play him as a AAA 2B/3B, correct?

Thanks for answering my questions. One more to follow.

Not sure what Rolando Lee's glove projects to, but he looks more like a 3B/RF right now. 3B might be a better spot for him. He's listed as a SS, but you can just go ahead and change that. Go to roster management under GM's office and when you find him, click on where it says SS under position and you can change his position. Set his primary to either 2B or 3B and if you want him to still play SS, list it as a secondary along with any other positions you would want him to play.

Julian Colome could easily play a good 2B. You could also do the change of position thing with him as well. Up to you...

Position listings on the player cards are just cosmetic. Ratings are what matters.

But if he is in the minors and under SIM control (SIM management of minor league rosters), you'll want his positions setup correctly

Thaks on the Rolando Lee suggestion. I was thinnking about RF for him, as well. Sounds like that is a better fit.

Colome seems to be doing OK in CF defensively at the ML level(except for the - plays), but would be better at 2B. He has seen some time there and has done well.

Lee is definately NOT a SS. Would be a good defensive 2B. I don't see him as being much offensively at the ML level.

Both guys are really platoon vL players, IMO. Their low vRHP is going to keep them from ever hitting for a high BA if they play every day. At least Colome will his some HRs and steal some bases.

Colome is a good option at 2B. There's no penalty to changing position and he meets the rec's at 2B (whereas he would definitely be a below-average CF) so that is where I would play him. I have no idea why you would platoon him, unless 2B's who put up .800+ OPS are a dime a dozen in your league. His health, makeup and durability suggest he should be a productive every day 2B until he's 34 or 35. He's the kind of player I would lock up long-term.

I would not play Lee as an ML RF unless his power doubles by next spring training. You should easily be able to find a better RF in free agency for less than 3M. His glove is already good enough to play 3B at the ML level but in my opinion, his bat is shaky even for 3B. I would see him as a decent bench guy who can be a defensive sub in LF/RF, or possibly fill in some rest days against LHP for your 3B or 2B, although he will definitely be a below-average defensive 2B.
