Well...it's actually 96 now....projects to 100.

David Cordero...

not much control.

Is he a decent prospect?

I appreciate all the advice for a newby.

Can't see his projections, but based on his current development and ratings, I'd say no. Doesn't look like someone who should see time in the ML as anything but a mop-up man.

no, his control is pretty much not going anywhere. only 1 pt of improvement from last season means he is about done with his control improving and less that 50 control is just not good. Additionally his vL/vR splits are pretty low and not going much further either

He might make a #4 or 5 for a weak pitching team but I would not expect him to be a solid major leaguer. I would never desire that pitcher to start in a playoff game.

his progression from year to year is poor - you may need to get your training budget higher and be sure you have good minor league coaching (patience and discipline) - if your minor leaguers are not reaching potential this may be part of the problem

Yes, he can be a BL pitcher if his splits get better(which I don't think they will). 45 control will work as a low end starter or long reliever.

I disagree with miket. If his control was 85 he would be a pretty good 5th starter. As it is, even if his splits improve 5-6 points each, he's AAA fodder.

50 control with 80/80+ splits along with about 250+ combined first 3 pitches would be a good SP in the ML.

Alex Jarvis hopes you're right.

How has he given up so many HR with a 96 gb/fb? Wouldn't a 100 gb/fb mean 0 HRs like 0 power means the hitter will never hit a HR?

I have had guys with 0 power hit homeruns. I think it is supposed to be more of a percentile where the 100 gb/fb guy is supposed to be the best in the league in that category and the 0 power guy the worst.

Can you link one please? Do you happen to know whether they were out-of-the-park HR? I ask because zero power is the one zero that has been absolute in my experience, in that I've never had a zero power HR guy take one out of the park.

I think Z may be right.....this guy has 0 HR's in his entire career....

Please add link, I have never seen this and have been looking.

Bad control, mediocre splits and only 2 really useable pitches. Not a viable ML pitcher, IMO.
