So I've been at this for awhile now at the D3 level and while I've enjoyed a decent amount of success, I'm hoping some of the real vets can chime on on a few of my questions below.
*In recruiting a D2 player, is it accurate to say that if the D2 player gets back to you with a "you're a backup option" message while also refusing any home or campus visits, it's possible to sway him via scouting trips and then persistence with the visits?
*Is the main advantage for a certain prestige level compared to the prestige levels immediately below that you get to see recruits first before they drop? Do some recruits viewable for a school with A potential never drop to a school with B potential (for example)?
*All else being equal, is a recruit more likely to accept a redshirt from a school with higher prestige?
*Sticking with redshirting, obviously the most accurate way of gauging a recruit's willingness to accept a redshirt is to offer it during the recruiting process. If you're not going to go that route though, what's the next best way to do it? Via scouting trips that reveal the recruit's character? Via information from a coach's call? From high WE?
