So, I have an offer out to a coach, and he has this icon next to his name -

This icon indicates he is considering my offer, but because it doesn't have the "1" in it, that I am not his current first choice.

During the AM cycle, I got this message from him:

"Well, something has come up. I got a better offer from another club. I'm still interested, but you'll have to do better if you want me to work for you."

Before I had a chance to change my offer (missed the half-cycle), I got this new message:

"Amazing how quickly things can change -- looks like you guys are my number one option at this point. I'll let you know if anything changes."

The new message makes me want to assume whoever had the better offer in signed a different coach for the position and/or withdrew the offer, but the lack of the "1" in the icon gives me pause. Anyone know for sure whether the coach is leaning towards me right now?

Support Staff/Developers - If, in fact, the message is correct, you might want to take a look at making it so the icon gets updated to reflect those changes (as it does when someone beats your best offer).

I would play it safe and up the offer if you have the money.

I ended up not changing my offer (mainly because I wanted to determine whether the icon or message controlled) and 8 hours (2 half-cycles) after the message said I was the number one option, he signed with me.

"I am excited to have a fresh start as Bench Coach and I feel that I can help this club win."

So, it would seem that the icon simply wasn't updated to reflect his preferences.
