So I just took over a new team with an INTL scouting budget of 2. The team is terrible as discussed in another thread. Is there a limit to how much I can increase the budget?

$4M per season

Really? So I am stuck with the worst team in the league and my INTL scouting will become 6. Does anyone know WHY it is set up this way? How does it encourage anyone to want to take over a team in this ****** predicament? I'm basically missing out on half of he best methods to pick up future superstars.

How much did that team cost you?
1/19/2010 7:26 PM
It's going to cost me the same as every other team that someone owns. $24.95 per season. Are you implying it would cost me anything less?

If you bought it as a brand new owner, you would have got the default budget of $10m, and you would have been able to bring it up to $14m. If you have a $2m budget, that implies that the team was transferred to you. Which means you got it for free (this season).

So if I dont re-up and then purchase the team back can I get the default settings?

Back to your question . . . why is it set up this way? It's to prevent people from taking huge swings between one extreme to another in their budgets in an attempt to game the system. In real-life, a strong IFA scouting department does not happen overnight. It takes years to set up. The $4m limit is in place to mimic that.

No. You'll still be recognized as the same owner. That's a fail-safe to prevent owners from gaming the budget process.

To answer the question, yes I took it over after the previous owner abandoned the team. Is my previous post a good way to get around the poor budget?

Is there any way I can fix the budgets? An email to site support possibly? Or should I just try and get a different team in this world that isnt screwed up like this team is?

No way to fix it other than to ride it out for a couple of seasons to get it where you want it. A ticket would not help, nor should it.

If it's that huge a problem for you, look for another team next season.

I would try both. Send in a ticket explaining everything to see if they will set the budget to the defaults when the league rolls. If they won't just switch teams.

That would be horrible if CS let you do that. That opens the door for cheating to fix a budget you no longer want to be stuck with.

Why shouldn't a ticket fix it? If a new owner is able to reset the budgets why should someone willing to take over an abandoned team not get the same treatment? I didn't set these budgets and destroy this team. Shouldn't I be able to set the budgets however I see fit next season and be treated as a new owner?
