Yeah I said it.

I know. 99 should be Superman. And I don't know anyone with Kryptonite on hand. I'm just spitballing but I'd say about 600 MLB players per season go uninjured. Why the hell do we get 5-10 per year? CRAP, COMPLETE CRAP!!!

It is particularly meaningless when you have no real conception of how it works.

Why were we not informed of this earlier?

Unless I get immediate financial compensation from WIS, I will be leaving this site forever!

Here, I'll help.

99 indicates a very good chance of no injury. But, like 99 contact not guaranteeing that every AB is a ball in play, it does not indicate no chance of injury.

3 indicates a very good chance of injury, but like 3 contact not guaranteeing that every AB is a strikeout, it does not indicate that the player will stub his toe coming out of the dugout before every AB.

Wait you mean my 98 rated player can get injured!! And can be out for more than 3.24 games !! This is an outrage! I demand that every player be injured based on his rating for a particular number of games per year so I can plan better. My guy with an 80 should miss exactly 32.4 games per year.

Ok in all seriousness I understand that. It just seems like to me the high health rating guys get hurt just as often as the low health rating guys.

I admit this is entirely anecdotal.

Obviously I am just mad that my high health SP got hurt for 360 days.

Happens to all of us. Do what I do. Never ever look at the health rating of a guy who just got injured.

I mean the best thing that could happen when you look is you kick yourself in the rear for depending on a guy with a 37 rating.

If you believe that you can use that knowledge to your advantage and get low health players cheap.

Go to a world that has been around for 15 seasons and take a look at players who have been around for a long time or retired after a long career. Look at their health ratings and compare with their DL stints. I guarantee you will see a correlation, even if there are a few outliers (as there are in real life).

Once had 3 long-term injuries occur within a week - to guys with health ratings of 98, 98 & 92. Since then I've noticed (anecdotal only) that short-term injuries are correlated with the health rating, but long-term injuries are random.

On the basis of my experience, I would say that the more physical demands made on the player in everyday play, the more likely he is to get injured. A SS or Pitcher with a 37 health rating is an injury waiting to happen, a LF or 1B can get by for season(s) without too much happening. (I'd be interested to know if other managers have noticed the same trend.)

That said, I do think way too many 99 health pitchers go down for year + injuries, even with 20 mil in training budgets. I'd be perfectly happy to see more injuries, but with fewer serious injuries, to bring things more in line with RB. After all, most injuries don't even make the 15\21 day DL in Real Baseball, but they do occur.

What I think is funny...are the non-related baseball injuries. I had 2 of them thus far in my early HBD experience. 1 for 13 days....he must have been hanging from a chandelier or something. They should tell us what happened there ...like they do in the HBD injuries....

I.E. " Bart Simpson just got injured tripping up a curb. He fell face first on the ground, and will be out a few days with contusions."
