Did a review of our world's HOF candidates, and found eight hitters, but only a couple of pitchers.

And in truth, only three or four of the hitters outperform the current unretired stars. I'm guessing it will be another 5-7 seasons before the real big-number guys begin to populate the hall.

Anyone else do a similar review?

How did you go about doing this review?

I went through the career and single-season leaders for a host of categories, first among "all franchises" and then for several very successful franchises.

I did one too. Yaz blog There are about 3 retired position players who should be shoo ins, and 2 pitchers. I'm thinking it should be another 6-7 seasons till the best producers get in, but we should probably be putting a few players in each season. There are 11 PP who haven't retired, but would be automatically nominated, and 4 pitchers. I used pretty much the same method to figure this out.

The Ron Cey list of HOF candidates will be appearing on our blog in a few days. We have two other veteran owners who are vetting the list.

Black, btw, was traded mid-season to Wichita. He may not have a Boise cap on when he enters the HOF around S22.

I think worlds need to account for this when doing their voting...

I think people are going to be surprised with how few actually get elected.

160/17=9.4


And that's if everyone votes for the same people. That won't happen. IF, and that's a big IF, everyone casts 5 votes, you might see 4-5 players get elected.
