fixing to start spring training and I don't want to overwork SPs but I have some young SPs that I want to make sure get some pt...

I always use 4 sets of tandem starters during ST. Set each pitcher for about 40 pitches and your bullpen will get some work also.

Most people don't use tandem except in spring training and low minors. Some will use it in the playoffs to set the first guy out of the bullpen. A very few use it as a regular ML system.
