He was arrested with two male strippers in April. That really turned off the voters.

I actually had a player who was having a better season not make the all star team. Generally middle relievers who rack up wins because the starting pitcher did not pitch 5 innings in a game he was leading will not make the all star team for that reason. That appears to be the case with Cristobal

Pablo Silva

At the All Star break Pablo had a ERA around 2.35 and he was 18-0. 2 middle relievers made the All Star team over him with similar stats except they did not have the wins. If you took away the wins of Pablo the other 2 pitchers probably make it over him, but its hard to completely ignore 18 wins even if a lot of them are cheap wins.

Why would these 2 players Jerry Shelley, Erubiel Gomez
make the all star team over this player Pablo Silva.....

Thanks for the note. This is not an issue that Admin will directly respond to. They wish to refer you to Knowledge Base Article #670 where the guidelines for awards, mvp, All Star selections etc are addressed.

Article #670 does not even mention the all star team or any guidelines about the all star team.

James,

At the time the list was compiled he was just behind the others. If the All Star selections were to happen today he would have been selected.

Here is the formula we use to determine All Star selections for RPs:

((5 * (sp.Outs/3)/9) - 2*sp.ER) + (sp.SO/5) + ((sp.W*2) - (sp.L*4))

They actually gave you the formula? Cool. I don't think I've ever seen them do that before.

How the hell has this guy had 18- and 17-win seasons without ever making a single start??

And 28 for Silva?? Geez...

I could be wrong but I believe they accidently gave me the formula for SP instead of RP. I did not really care for the formula, I was just curious why 2 middle relievers with similar stats, except they had records of say 3-1 would make the all star team over a guy who was 18-0. My care factor for if my player makes the All Star team is very minimal, but I was still curious.

Silva plays on a team with poor starting pitching and excellent relief pitching. 1 of the starting pitchers has a stamina of 51 and another scares the hell out of me. So the starting pitcher with a 51 stamina tends to get tired before the 5th inning, and the starting pitcher that scares me has a 4 pull rating and many times gets pulled before the 5th inning. That means many cheap win chances for the bullpen.

You know, beyond the wins, his stats are nothing special. In real life, he'd get noticed, but I could see how he'd be overlooked by a computer.
