Starting all guards? Topic

I'm thinking of running a flex with all guards and then running a full court press defense. Anyone have any experience doing this? Any tips?

That would be awful. From my understanding, the 2 position penalty will kill you. You will be out rebounded and the opposing big men will dominate your guards down low.

Even if you go mostly perimeter, teams could go + on you and still dominate you.

I wouldn't.

YOu need some good rebounding. If you were going to even TRY, then your guards would ALL need to be super expectional rebounders, as well as your person playing at SF.

Hmm sounds interesting, but you probably want an athletic PF in there at C or something.

With new HD I think you can find LP/reb guards a lot easier and be able to do it, but in this current HD? Prob not.

Yeah, I think i'll run 4 guards with good Ath/SPD/BH/Passing and try to find a fast and good passing center.

I woudl look for Rebounding, speed, Athleticism, and be willing to sacrifice almost anything else for that model.

There was a coach who had all SFs. They struggled badly because of the rebounding problem

True Al, but there was also another coach (joefusko maybe?) who won a National Title with all SF's................

Wasn't there someone who also started all PF and C's and won a DIII title?
