It ends with the CT...no improvement during the NT and PI.

GD does do it this way. In the lower divisions teams (not mine) get 6 extra days of practice if they make the finals.

edit: I don't know which way is better. It's a huge advantage for the better teams. A player could have an extra 24 games of growth on a great team. It hurts rebuilds and new owners. The more successful owners will argue that they earned it.
