1) Explain why I've never won a game (with this ID) in DI (which is not even your question as much as it's Dalters)

I don't dedicate the time needed to this. I refuse to wake up in the middle of the night to recruit, and we all know recruiting is the main tool needed to be successful. From 11:00pm - 8:00am, I'm busy sleeping or taking care of family issues. As I'm sure you know, missing three straight cycles is very costly. I also travel quite a bit and miss complete days of recruiting. As much as we like to preach "coaching", players win or lose games. I also do not pay attention to the development and/or changes to gameplay. Had I stayed at Tulane, I would have won quite a few NT games, but I ditched for a lower Big 6 school. I don't use any of this as an excuse, but you asked so that's the deal.

2) State whether you think you are a good coach and why

In pure gameplanning on a level field (similar rated teams etc.), I believe I'm an excellent coach. That being said, I've never once claimed to be a "good DI coach"....mainly, because I don't recruit as well as I need to. I was caught traveling two seasons ago when I had 5 walk on's at SC....which would explain the sub .500 records the last two seasons. So with that, overall, I'd say I am just average because recruiting is included in "coaching".

3) NC St.

You were there 11 seasons. 5 of them you had losing seasons. 2 of them you were barely .500 (39 and 33). You made the post season 4/11 times with only 1 NT appearance. That means over half the time you were there, you were barely .500 or worse.

On a side note, while others live and die with only NT appearances and NT wins, I don't put much stock into them. Is getting knocked out in the second round really that much better than not making the NT at all? NT appearance and wins don't mean crap without rings. The object is to win the whole thing. Do you think the Buffalo Bills or Philadelphia Eagles think wins in the post season matter? Do you think Arizona under all the Lute Olson early exits saw them as a "success" in which to measure other teams by?

My main gripe is when someone has had that limited success with a Big 6 school, I don't see how you can bash someone else (especially when I never said a word to you). That's just my opinion. I think it's a major violation and it's sooo JV.

Now I've answered your questions. Please explain to me how comparing your resume to mine proves you're a "good coach". Your resume should stand alone and by itself, but for some reason, you, mlatsko, and the rest of the Mensa society feel the need to pull what I've done into to prove how you're a good coach.....when in reality, they have no correlation whatsoever.

Point 1 and Point 2 fair enough although I'd think eventually you'd win one by mistake but personal issues/life/etc should always come before a sim game.

Point three - Its not all about winning rings. Not every team is built or in a position to compete for a ring so their expectation at the beginning of the season might be, win 10 games, or improve on last seasons win total or make the NT. Yes, in the extreme examples you used those teams probably considered their seasons failures because the expectations they had coming in were to win the Super Bowl. But if you take teams last season like the Dolphins (who had been 1-15 the year before), the Falcons (4-12), the Ravens (whatever they were) and ask if they felt they failed because they made the playoffs the following year the answer would be no, because they exceeded their expectations.

That is why "**** poor" is a terrible description. I took over a school with a pathetic history. Each year my goal was to improve on the season before until I eventually got into a position where one season I felt I had a team that was capable of making the FF. We fell short and thats the Elite 8 season. After that I went for gusto in recruiting which didn't work out and in the ACC you're going to get punished for it. However, the team continued to compete and improve. I will candidly admit, that because the team wasn't were i wanted it to be at a certain point, I to give someone else a shot. But for the most part my expectations were met.

Second, the only reason I've ever said anything to you is because since the day I've joined the conference you've been nothing but rude and obnoxious to the other members, in fact I usually refrained from commenting until this season when you decided to make those same type of comments to me in another world.

As for your question...feel free to quote me anywhere that I've ever said "Im a good coach", I never have. Never would and the one prior time you said something, I said something along the lines of my resume speaks for itself. I never compared your resume to mine. I was on you for opening your mouth with regarding other coaches in our conference and in forums re: Dalter and you decided to throw my resume into the conversation. At which point calling out the deficiencies in yours was meant as a "are you kidding me your referencing a losing season here or there given your collective body of work."

Your last statement re: Mlat and others is the part you just don't get. They aren't comparing theirs to yours in order to prove they are good coaches; they are doing it to demonstrate they are better coaches than you so you should STFU...there is a distinct difference that I hope you recognize.

See, here's where we don't see eye to eye. Rings matter....building is important and we agree on that, but in the end, championships are the only thing that matters. You don't have to agree with that, but using NT wins in an argument directed at me is worthless.

Let me just give you a little history lesson. In Tark, I was the coach of Marist and mlatsko decided to attack me out of nowhere. To be honest, I didn't even know who he was. So he and I have been going at it over multiple worlds for about a year. I was in C-USA at Tulane, and it continued on my CC. Pretty much the same argument you and I are having now.

Then, the ticking time bomb zhawks got involved. No idea how or why he would want to inject himself in it, but he's a child who just can't help himself and it escalted from a 4 to a 10. Again, I never even knew he existed until he came after me completely unprovoked. As you know, this immature turd brings a tank to a knife fight and we end up here. tdvy, was another who also felt the need to pile on completely unprovoked.

So, here we are. Frankly, I don't care about you in the least, but I'm not going to let you get away with some of the diarrhea you've been throwing out there. If you attack me unprovoked, I will make you look stupid like I've done. I don't care about tdvy. I don't even consider mlatsko an enemy....I just like breaking his balls since he came after me and is Captain One and Done. I'm sure he feels the same about me.

Which brings me to my BFF zhawks. I despise him. I was here with another ID long before him and he acts like he invented HD. There were many a HD guide before him, yet he tries to pawn the idea off like it was his. In his demented world, he believes he's some sort of ambassador. Then you add his comments, which I just found out about recently, and that only increases my hatred of him. And talking with WIS, his problems with other coaches runs deep and the list is long. It's become personal between me and him. I have zero respect for him and will continue to make him look as stupid as humanly possible (most of which is done on his own).

Those IDs wouldn't have been bluedevil1 and bluedevil2 and other versions on the theme you "and your brother" had in the same conference at the same time, would it?

mlats would call you Captain NONE and .... I guess it just trails off at that point since there's nothing to come after NONE.

I seriously need to know your definition of "provocation?"

I now understand WHY you don't understand the game. Making the NT is exactly what it's about ... that allows you to continue at the same school without getting fired. I now understand why you put no stock into longevity (hence the word DYNASTY) at the same school. It's why HD makes it so tough to change schools once you've reached this level. The goal is to create a solid winning program year in/year out and give yourself the chance at making the run to win it all. Goal #1 is to win the National Championship, but you can't do it if you don't make the tourney. How many great coaches in HD have NOT won a championship? I'm sure there's a few.

By the way, the point of a discussion/argument/conflict is not to make the other person look bad, but to make your point and support it so that others (including the other person) may learn. Your constant berating others and self-proclaimed desire to make people look stupid only takes away from any point you could ever try to make. As your last post in our CC showed, though, you haven't looked at anything concrete or from a wider perspective to see the facts to make a point ... which is why you resort to name calling, I suppose.

And I got involved because you came in our chat room and began spouting an opinion that was blatantly incorrect on facts. I retorted with the facts, and then you attacked me personally. From there, it's just been your consistent comedy routine that pops up like a regularly-scheduled program. If you didn't care about us, or if you had real family issues to deal with that much, you wouldn't take the time to see if anyone is talking about you at any given time. But you do. So you suffer. That's your own fault.

Sure Rings matter, when you win them with your own players, anybody could cherrypick a team that has been very well built and win a title. Numerous of coaches have won titles with my players.

(Illini game on I will read the rest and comment later)

Re: only rings matter

Then why do schools put up Final Four banners?

If that is the case, then show them to me. I openly state in the thread and thank many others for their additions to the thread.
