What happens if you join a theme world and the commish decides hes going to change the rules six seasons into it? Are you just out of luck because he is the king or can he be removed? I already sent a ticket but Im just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this.

The Commish, unfortunately, can do anything. He could boot you for saying hi.

That makes me feel disgusted towards the game then.

I wouldn't have joined the league and if I did I would've budgeted my team differently.

I would've known I didn't have to worry about the "double mendoza line".

I might've switched cities every season because I really don't play well in LA.

I might not have cared about the commish saying he was god and could do what he wants, because there wasn't any rules to begin with.

cuda wuda shuda - now im a nobody eh?

It's okay Knuckles. Just repeat this

'I'm Good Enough, I'm Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like Me!'

lol - is that from a movie? I've heard it elsewhere. Maybe I've actually said it. Anyways I guess I'll just join some other league with my crummy credit and complain to admin a lot.

had the same problem, knuckle ... was in a private league and the ground rules changed dramatically. There's nothing you can do except kiss the investment goodbye and move on.

To be fair, most Commissioners will bring it up to the other members if things are going to change, kind of an approval process.

There are some though that decide a change is needed and at that point, you have a choice, stay or leave.

At least you know not to join a world with that certain Commish if decided he can't be trusted on what you decide are important issues.

I agree with mitch. If you can't abide the Commish's decisions, it's time to move on.

When the Commish does what he thinks is best, unilaterally... well, you can't fight city hall.

At least 5 have moved on and I don't think it was the decision that made them move on. It was more the way he decided to treat the people that disagreed with him. Anyhow good luck to him and the world.

I guess I am not following along all that clearly. How substantive were the rule changes? Were they unilaterally declared with no discussion or warning? More specifics would help.
2/11/2010 8:42 AM
right, what happened?
2/11/2010 8:56 AM
An owner wanted to change cities between seasons. I asked in WC for objections. There was a vocal minority who did not like it, but the vast majority of owners expressed no issue with it. I allowed the owner to move, and then the whining began.
