I guess this is kind of an obvious question, but I was wondering if anyone had specific tips. Feel free to sitemail me if you don't want to divulge your secrets over the thread. I never really recruited DEF in D2 and D3. Now I am trying to along with good SPD but still only getting average/decent results on D, granted I have a lowly mid-major/small school. Anyway, let me know if you have any useful info!

Good speed and athleticism at each position, or at least better than your oppenent. Besides the obvious IQ, there isn't much more of a secret. High DEF is optimal, but since you have to match up at each position with man, you need to equal the oppositions ATH and SPD to be truly effective.

A lot of coaches on here don't like to use the double teams, but I have had success in the past.You have to use your double teams wisely. If your smart with your double teams, this optimises your man to man better. Just have to be a smart coach about it.

Defense is key in the man to man.
