Are you speaking your team playing against Marietta? I never use double teams, and feel they have very little effect while greatly increasing the other player's on the floor chances of scoring. But would never ever double team in any circumstances if you are playing man to man.

If you really need to stop a certain guy, I would use my best speed+defensive rating person. But just think the team you're playing is too balanced to worry about it.

i like tossing in your best ATH, speed, and defensive guy to get their best player.

One thing I've tried, and sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't, is try to run a lot of offense at that player. If you can get him into foul trouble, he's not going to be much of a threat.

I used this strategy a long time ago when players actually fouled out. It's a viable strategy in real life, but for some reason it's much harder to do now in HD.

If you're trying to guard a post player, move your defense tighter in so you're packing the paint.

That also works, perhaps surprisingly, when trying to slow down perimeter players who do not take a lot of 3 pt shots. But that's riskier if they have the potential to hit from the outside.
