I am trying to patch together a strategy to rebuild a once-proud franchise. I am new, and trying to undo some damage I did during my first season...enough prologue. I have a couple good-but-not-great RPs that will be FA's next year. I wonder if they might nab me an extra pick in the draft if I let them go next year. I read some earlier posts...and still wasn't sure. Any input will be appreciated.

Vicente Seneca

Geraldo Polonia

PS: oops, just noticed I have Seneca signed for an extra year. Anyway, I'd still be interested to hear if folks think he'd get a Type B if he were to go FA this year.

no on seneca, the sim will consider him a SP. yes on polonia in most cases.

Yeah no go on Seneca, if you're rebuilding he's decent enough to net you a prospect in a trade, shop him around...

I just had an RP with a 66 overall go to free agency and he didn't get me a pick. He wasn't A/B. The season before I had a 68 overall RP go and he DID get me a type B. It changes in every world and in every offseason (the designations are relative to that FA class I think), but my presumption/gut feeling is telling me neither will be Type B.

The designations are relative to the overall ML talent pool, not FA class. However that pool does change year to year, so the cutoff # changes at each position group as well.

That said, 65 is cutting it very close. I have a 65 Type B RP in another World. Of course, we're ending ST and he's still unsigned, so even if he lists as Type B that doesn't ensure you getting the pick. If you can deal them for a sandwich pick quality player, do it and don't gamble on Type B.
