Anyone ever sign a cat that was undecided? I put about $2K into this guy...he was a very late drop down, I no longer have cash but I offered him a scholly a bit back...chances I get him?

If you are asking if you can sign somone who is undecided, of course.

If you are asking if you'll get a guy who is undecided AFTER you drop your cash, no, zero chance.

im not sure this is accurate. i believe CS has said that the amount you need to get a guy to consider you drops over time, so a guy who is undecided in say cycle 5 might consider you in cycle 10 without you doing anything. i'm pretty sure ive heard example of this happening as well.

however, if a guy is not considering you have 2K, that sounds like something is off. i would say probably he will not consider you later, colonels.

Yea they can. There was a thread on it (div I) when a coach offered a ship and like 500 bucks worth of effort. He was undecided and the coach forgot to pull the ship. In the middle of him battling 2 other schools for the recruit he really wanted, this guy signed. CS removed the guy from his team and let him re battle for the main guy. Players can go undecided if there is no 'ship on the table at the start of signings. They can also start considering you/sign with a ship on the table if they are still undecided late in recruiting.

it is possible for him to move to considering you from undecided without further effort - its kinda like how the women look prettier during the half hour before closing time at the bar

it also could happen if someone else had put some effort into the guy and it was not enough to get him to consider them, but was enough to keep him undecided - if that other school then fills its last scholarship, it can change your guy's attitude by removing that effort

I have the 8 and 11pm cycle ...I anticipating on not getting him (which sucks)...lost out on 2 guys I put over 5K into...was thinking of giving him a booster seat lol

Are you trying to pull him down, or is he open to recruitment? 2k on a pull down isn't much and if he is open for recruitment you are probably real close for him to consider. Pop on a promise start/30 min promise. The 30 min promise would get rejected, but the start would be accepted. This is only 20 bucks and would put you over the top. If he is still saying back up option you are SOL as he'll just reject the effort.

he might also not sign with anyone, go juco and you get partial value next season for the efforts

He dropped down and said for me to talk to him since I had been recruiting...I can't though because I only have $2 ...would a booster gift help lol?

This is really what I'm expecting to happen.

It might, but keep in mind you will get caught. If you plan on staying just using 1 gift isn't going to hurt a whole lot other then your rep which takes 3 seasons or so to get back. You won't lose ships, and you won't be banned from the post season. I wouldn't do it though unless I really wanted him and was planning on sticking around for at least 5 more seasons.

Its guaranteed that you get busted? I think it should be random on who gets caught and who doesn't personally.

You can sign someone who is undecided even after you have dropped the money on him and the cycles have went by. I have done it myself in the past. Didn't really want the kid at that point anyway but oh well.

For once I agree with Colonels. I think getting caught 9 out of 10 times would be good, with every once in a while someone getting away with a small gift.

You do not always get caught , just usually you get caught.
