6 Year Minor League Free Agent Topic

Do Minor League Players become free agents after their 5th year of pro ball or 6th? HBD says 6+ years of minor league experience. Does that mean 6 years or more, or more than 6? Thanks!

They are eligible to become free agents after 6 seasons.

So what that means is that at the end of your current season, any minor leaguer not on your 40 man roster who currently has 5 pro years will become a free agent at the end of the season. If their OVR is less than 60, they can be re-signed by you next offseason to minor league contracts. If they are 60+ OVR, then they are diluted into thinking that they should make millions of dollars and will seek a major league deal.
